L4L provides moral and legal support to lawyers who are threatened or persecuted in doing their work, and to lawyers'' organisations which defend or represent these lawyers. It highlights the position of lawyers under threat worldwide to national and international bodies and organisations, such as the United Nations and the European Parliament, as well as the relevantauthorities of the countries in which lawyers operate. L4L also organises fact-finding missions, observation missions and letter-writing campaigns. In addition, it regularly publishes articles on individual cases.
