Lucky Bastard Club

Before World War II, Ralph was just another American facing the harsh realities of life in the grip of the Great Depression, learning how to make the best of it. His National Guard service ended, but as fate would have it, the Army Air Corps called him to higher duty, launching him into the skies over a war-torn Europe.

Meet Ralph, a determined soul eager to carve out a destiny of his own. He wasn't just an airman-Ralph was a husband to his newlywed wife and a soon-to-be father, with everything to lose. Thirty missions overseas were the terms he agreed to and Ralph was ready to do his part, even after learning that the life expectancy of an aircrew was astonishingly short.

A testament to the human spirit's capacity to endure, fight, and hope amidst the darkest of times, Lucky Bastard Club: 30 Missions unfolds how one man faced the unfathomable odds of air combat and emerged a member of the coveted Lucky Bastard Club.
