Nanno Bolt, a native of Amsterdam, earned his Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Amsterdam. He has authored approximately seventy scientific publications. Since relocating to Burgundy, now the name of
a region in modern France, in 2007, he has focused his research on late medieval apothecaries. Bolt is an esteemed member of the Societe d''Histoire de la Pharmacie in Paris and the Cercle Benelux d''Histoire de la Pharmacie. In December 2021, he was
honored with the National Prize of Pharmaceutical History by the Academie Nationale de Pharmacie in Paris for his contributions to the field.
